The Letter From Vincent van Gogh to Theo_647

Letter 647 (Not sent) Auvers-sur-Oise, 7 July 1890

Dear brother and sister,

My impression is that since we are all rather distressed and a little overwrought besides, it matters comparatively little to insist on having any very clear definition of the position in which we are. You rather surprise me by seeming to wish to force the situation. Can I do anything about it, at least can I do anything that you would like me to do?

However that may be, once again, a good handshake in thought, and in spite of everything, it gave me a great pleasure to see you all again.

Be very sure of that.

Ever yours,

Vincent
